Novo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On April 8, 2024, the Council for International Relations\u2013Greece and IDIS organized a lecture by Andrew R. Novo, Professor of Strategic Studies National Defense University, Washington, D.C. , on the topic \u201c<strong>We have good allies: Allies and decisions for war and peace in Thucydides<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Introductory remarks were addressed by Professor <strong>Aristotle Tziampiris<\/strong>, Professor of International Relations, Department of International and European Studies at the University of Piraeus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The panel of speakers included: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Konstantina Botsiou<\/strong>, Professor, University of Piraeus and General Director, Council for International Relations, \u2013Greece; <br><strong>Kostas Lavdas<\/strong>, Professor, Panteion University; <br><strong>Athanasios Platias<\/strong>, Professor of Strategy, University of Piraeus, President of CfIR-GR; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conversation was moderated by <strong>Constantinos Arvanitopoulos<\/strong>, Professor, Panteion University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Andrew R. Novo<\/strong> is a Professor of Strategic Studies at the National Defense University, Washington, D.C. An expert in ancient and modern European history and strategic studies, Dr. Novo also teaches for the Johns Hopkins University program in Global Security Studies and the Georgetown School of Foreign Service.
